Western FC, Khovd Club, Soyombiin Baarsuud FC, Khan-Uul FC, Khuree Khovguud, Ulaanbaataryi Mazaalaynuud, and Sumida FC are returning teams which earned neither promotion nor suffered relegation for the 2018 season. Mongolia Learns First 2022 World Cup Qualification Opponent

Image property of the AFC Today Mongolia learned that it will face Brunei in the First Round of 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification. The opponents were decided by a draw held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia earlier today, with Mongolia being placed in Pot A because the team's April 2019 FIFA ranking was in the top 6 of the 12 teams. Mongolia will start its campaign at home in Ulaanbaatar on 6 June before traveling to Brunei to face the opponents again five days later. Total goal tally across the two matches will be used to determine who will meet the top 34 AFC teams in a group stage format beginning in September 2019. Erchim Reclaims Title, Kicks Off 2019 Season with Super Cup Victory

Image property of the Mongolian Football Federation Today reigning MPL Champions Erchim FC defeated 2018 Mongolian Cup winners Athletic 220 FC 4-2 to officially kick off the 2019 Mongolian football season. While Erchim opened its season in February with home-and-away 0-3 defeats to to North Korean champions Ryomyong, this was Athletic 220's first meaningful match of the pre-season. Erchim took the lead in the 17th minute through a Kh. Narateo strike.
