The title marks the first such achievement for the perennial contender. Going into the final matchday, Khangarid FC had the opportunity to finish even on points with Athletic 220 but the former's loss to FC Ulaanbaatar and the latter's draw with SP Falcons sealed the standings for both clubs. Božik holds an UEFA Pro license. The Slovakian becomes the third consecutive European to lead the team after German Michael Weiss's historic tenure came to an end in January 2020. 2020 AFC Cup Abandoned

Image property of the AFC After several delays and rounds of rescheduling, the Asian Football Confederation announced today that the remainder of the 2020 AFC Cup has been cancelled because of logistical impossibilities caused by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. While much of the world's football has resumed, albeit with no or limited fans in attendance, the AFC said coordinating the confederation's five zones made it impossible to resume the tournament.
