P. Uuganbayar Scores Against FC Admira Wacker Mödling of Austria

P. Uuganbayar and Amaraa Dulguun were chosen by Puskás Akadémia FC as the second crop of Mongolian players to join the Hungarian club's academies following a tryout in May 2017.

Uuganbayar is a native of Darkhan-Uul aimag and previously played for Deren FC.

Uuganbayar has been training with the under-16 side since his arrival and recently scored the game-winning goal in a 2-1 friendly victory over the academy of FC Admira Wacker Mödling of the Austrian Bundesliga on 30 January 2018.

The Mongolian demonstrated strong individual skill, dribbling into space before picking out the far corner and beating the goalkeeper from outside of the box.

The first group of Mongolian players selected to play at the academy were B.Amgalanbat, O.Kanerger, D.Tamhaan and Ganbold Ganbayar. While the first three players have returned home, Ganbayar was selected to stay at the club and has made several noteworthy appearances, even earning a 600€ pay.

Like Ganbayar, Uuganbayar does yet not seem to be eligible to represent the team in league matches, perhaps because of Hungarian laws regarding minors. However, they are eligible to play in friendly matches, often against opponents from other European nations.

While consistent league play would be beneficial, big performances against the academies of respected clubs increase the interest in Mongolian players and will perhaps open additional opportunities with other clubs.
