Mongolia's Only "A" Licensed Coach Signs for FC Selengepress

It was announced today that Mongolia's only coach to hold an AFC "A" license, Otgonbayar Ishdorj, has signed on to coach FC Selengepress of the Mongolian Premier League.

Otgonbayar had, by far, the longest tenure of any coach of the Mongolian national team. The 49-year-old former defender was at the helm of the Blue Wolves for nearly 11 years from 2000 to December 2010.

He also holds the record for the Mongolian national team coach with the most wins and draws recorded under his management. He was on the bench as Mongolia recorded its first-ever non-loss, a 2-2 draw with Bangladesh during 2002 FIFA World Cup qualification, and its first win, a 2-0 result against Guam two years later.

Otgonbayar was also previously very active with youth club FC Deren Sumida, including a stint as the organization's technical director until he left to serve as technical director of the Mongolian Football Federation in 2011. He played an integral role in the founding of the club as he convinced team owner Takashi Morimoto of Japan to invest in the long-term benefits of youth football rather than a club in the Premier League.

Otgonbayar will take over as manager of FC Selengepress for Chin-Orgil B.
