Ulaanbaatar City FC Sign Ivorian Striker

Ulaanbaatar City FC announced today that the club has signed Ivory Coast youth international Arthur Kouassi for the 2018 season.

The 28-year-old striker (born 17 November 1989) brings a wealth of experience from across Asia.

Kouassi's Asian odyssey began at Shenzhen FC of the the second tier of football in China in 2012.

In 2013 he transferred to Citizen Athletic Association of the Hong Kong First Division where he spent one season.

From Hong Kong he moved to the Philippines where he split three seasons as a member of Manila Jeepney FC and Global Cebu FC, both the country's first division.

After leaving Global Cebu FC, Kouassi signed for Chin United of Myanmar's National League for one year. In that time he scored six goals in thirteen league matches.

Following his departure from the club, Koussai returned to the Philippines and played most recently in the Philippines Football League with Ilocos United FC before leaving the club in mid-January 2018. With the club he averaged over a goal every two games with 11 strikes in 20 league matches.

Internationally, Kouassi represented the African powerhouse Ivory Coast in five contests at the youth level.

Kouassi will likely be relied upon to lead the attack for UB City this season. Last season, despite the club's silver medal finish and cup victory, only one UB City cracked the list of the Premier League's top 15 scorers. Tsedenbalyn Tümenjargal was fourth in the league with 10 goals.

The striker, who stands at nearly 6 feet 2 inches, will bring height and an aerial dimension to the team's attack unlike any other player currently on the roster.

This signing comes only two days after the club announced the signing of Trinidad and Tobago international defender Seon Power.
