Yesterday, long-time Mongolian Premier League club Selenge Press FC announced that it would have a slightly different name entering the 2019 season following an 8th-place finish and near relegation in 2018.
The team announced via its social media account that it would slightly alter its old name and logo. The team will now be known as SP Falcons Football Club, effective immediately.
"The Falcons" has long been a nickname of the club thanks to its logo prominently featuring the bird of prey for the past several seasons.
The team was founded in 2003 and has been a mainstay in the Premier League every season since 2006, aside from 2007. Despite the club's long history in the league, it has never won the championship. Its best finish was a runners-up standing behind Khasiin Khulguud in 2009.
