Today concluded matchday 18 of the 2021 Highsense Premier League season with Athletic 220 FC being crowned champions for the second straight season. It was a tight race between places two and six with only six points dividing these positions.

The bottom of the table was a bit predictable with last year's MPL relegation candidate Ulaanbaataryi Mazaalaynuud finishing last with only three points and a whopping -37 goal differential. MPL debutants BCH Lions finished 8th while yo-yo club Khoromkhon finished in 9th place.

The bottom three clubs will now play four additional matches each in a round robin tournament to determine who will play in the 1st League in 2022.

In addition to the league table being finalized, the season's award winners were also announced today. In an uncommon scenario, the league's top goalscorer award went to a member of a relegation candidate and newly-promoted side, Tetsuaki Misawa of BCH Lions. The Japanese player tallied 17 goals and 5 assists in 16 matches, narrowly edging perennial contender Nyam-Osor Naranbold for the honour.

FC Ulaanbaatar's Saikhanchuluun Amarbayasgalan was named the league's top goalkeeper with 8 clean sheets in 18 matches. Athletic 220 FC's A.Temuujin was named the league's best midfielder with 4 goals and 10 assists in 16 matches. Finally O.Munkh-Orgil was named the league's top defender. The player tallied 2 goals and an assist in addition to his defensive work.

UB Mazaalainuud was given the league's Fair Play award for the least fouls committed and was awarded 2,000,000 tugrik.
