Puskás Akadémia Graduate Joins Athletic 220 FC

On 8 January 2022 it was announced that Otgonbayar Khantenger has joined Athletic 220 FC for the remainder of the 2022 MPL season.

Khantenger was part of the first-ever group of Mongolians to join Puskás Akadémia FC in Hungary in 2016. He went to the club along with B. Amgalanbat, Dugeree Temüülen, and most famously, Ganbold Ganbayar who is still at the club almost six years later.

Since returning to Mongolia, the 22-year-old midfielder has played with Ulaanbaatar City FC, SP Falcons, and the past two seasons with UB Mazaalaynuud after signing for the club in September 2020. The player will turn 23 on 24 February 2022, prior to the resumption of the season.

Khantenger should add an offensive spark in the attack following the surprise departure of striker Naranbold Nyam-Osor earlier this week.
