Earlier this week, recently-crowned First Division champions WARD FC have announced that they have rebranded to Amtat FC ahead of their maiden Premier League season.

The change comes as long-time sponsor of the club AMTAT has increased their support of the club. Amtat is a Mongolian importer of foods from over ten countries in Asia and Europe, in addition to selling domestic products. The company was founded in 2012 and sells online and in its flagship Amtat Mall in Ulaanbaatar.

WARD FC was originally founded as a club for Manchester United supporters in Mongolia and initially experience success in the amateur Fans Cup. The club rose to prominence during the 2021/2022 campaign as it finished second in the National Amateur Cup that year and was promoted to the Second League the following season.

The team will play its first match under its new identify tomorrow, 12 September, against Central Stallions to kick off the new season. This season, being referred to as the MFF Development League Interim Season 2026, will be played in an altered format as the federation, league, and clubs seek to improve operations.
